Missy

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 12 years

Missy is a loving, 12 year old Lurcher lady looking for a home with people who can give her lots of fuss and cuddles. She is currently living in a foster home in the Worcestershire area provided by Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue until she goes to her forever home. Missy is medium size and weighs 21kg. Life hasn't always been easy for her, but she loves everyone and is great with other dogs and children. She is confident, cuddly and cheeky. She gives the best cuddles and is very sweet and so hard to resist. She likes to be near her humans and supervise what they’re up to around the house. Missy could live with other dogs or be the only dog, though she isn't fond of cats. She gets on well with every dog she’s met and currently shares her home with a male greyhound. Missy doesn't like to be left alone for long but this could be built up. Missy doesn't need much exercise as she's an older lady, but she's definitely still got a spring in her step and enjoys a little run around the garden on a sunny day. Nothing seems to faze her! She travels well in the car and isn't worried by busy cafes, loud noises or new environments. Missy will be spayed and have a full dental shortly. She also has a poorly ear that has been cleaned and medicated. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ If you would like to offer cuddly Missy her loving home, please contact Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue below. About Missy

What life with Missy looks like

Missy is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Missy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Missy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Missy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Missy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Missy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Missy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Missy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
