Mo-2

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Origin Country: Russia Mo was rescued on the street in Buryatia, a region of Russia. Recently, a new law was introduced in Russia allowing regions to decide how to deal with stray animals. In Buryatia and some other regions, it was decided to euthanize stray animals. A volunteer movement, however, began registering dogs as their own and, if possible, sending them to safe regions, placing them in families, and gaining guardians. Many of the dogs are allowed to run free, and if they disappear, they are often not searched for; they are simply replaced with new ones, and the others are then caught and euthanized. This dog is one of the rescued ones. Now he is in an animal shelter in Ulan Ude, Buryatia. He is approximately 2 years old. Apparently, he was a family dog or at least had regular contact with humans. He is very friendly, people-oriented, and calm, and he gets along well with children and other household animals. He weighs about 15 kilograms and is approximately 46 cm tall. Unfortunately, the volunteers at the animal shelter neither have the opportunity nor the infrastructure to take the dogs for walks. The main tasks are to save the animals from euthanasia, feed those that require medical care, and find homes for the household animals. We are the sponsors of the dog and are helping him find a home and caring owners. We are in direct contact with the volunteers and staff of the Ananda Animal Shelter where the puppy is located, and we are ready to assist anyone who wishes to become the new owners of this dog with everything (transport, paperwork, etc.). Please do not use the AH form.

About Mo-2

What life with Mo-2 looks like

Mo-2 is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mo-2, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mo-2?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mo-2 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mo-2 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mo-2 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mo-2 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mo-2 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
