Adopt Moana

Podenco · Female · Young · 1 year

Animal shelter Triple A Benelux Input 16 april 2026: Hello there, I'm Moana! I'm a cheerful and lively Podenco girl who has finally discovered how much fun life can be! When I was found, I wasn't very brave. I was wet, cold, thin... and exhausted after days of storm. But as soon as I was warm and safe in a blanket, I felt for the first time that I could have hope again. Then came the best moment: I was allowed to live with other dogs. And wow... then I really came to life! I am super playful, love running, jumping, racing in the dog park and playing with volunteers. If you scratch my back, I roll over enthusiastically on the ground and invite you to play. It's all still a bit new for me, playing with people, but I learn very quickly, especially if you have snacks. I dream of an active home, preferably with at least one other dog (more is also okay!). I sometimes greet new dogs a bit loudly, but I mean it well - I'm just happy and enthusiastic. When I'm with my dog friends, I am brave, curious and not afraid of anything. Without dog friends by my side, I'm still a bit shy, especially in new situations or around men. But if you approach me calmly and gently stroke me, I melt like butter and fall asleep in your arms. We don't know yet how I feel in a busy city, but one thing is certain: with another dog as a role model, I dare much more and discover the world with pleasure. Moana has a low positive Leishmania value and is being treated. A future family only needs to have an annual check-up. The animal shelter/Podencoworld will gladly inform you about this.

Asiel Triple A Benelux Input 16 april 2026: Hallo daar, ik ben Moana!

About Moana

What life with Moana looks like

Moana is a medium-sized young adult podenco dog waiting at description in AL Ridderkerk.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Moana, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Moana?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. description handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Moana on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Moana if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — description will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Moana already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Moana isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with description early rather than rehoming privately; they know Moana and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
