Molly

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Molly is a very sweet girl who just needs a little time to come out of her shell. For this reason, owners who are experienced with nervous dogs and their body language would be ideal for her. She prefers new people to give her the time and space she needs to come to them and once she is more confident, is then able to build up a bond with you. Molly loves to run around in our paddocks with her dog friends, so an active family would be ideal for her. When she's with her doggy friends she is much more confident around new people and enjoys exploring new environments. Molly loves to have her food in enrichment to keep her brain busy and after a day of playing with her friends, loves a quiet bed to cosy up in. Molly is such a wonderful girl and we can't wait for her to find her forever home. Molly is a beautiful 1 year old Crossbreed who is looking for her dream family in a quiet, rural area where she can have the space she needs to run and play to her heart's content. Molly is a nervous girl who gains a lot of reassurance from other dogs and is currently sharing her kennel with one of our beautiful Akita's Coco who is helping her feel more safe and settled whilst in our care. For this reason, Molly would love to have a new dog sibling or two in her new home. Due to being more unsure of new people, Molly would prefer all children in the home to be older secondary school aged and able to understand her body language. She may have never lived in a home before, so Molly will need her leaving hours built up slowly, but once she is settled we believe she could be left for up to 4 hours with a doggy friend and some enrichment to keep her busy.

About Molly

What life with Molly looks like

Molly is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Dogs Trust Cardiff in Cardiff.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Molly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Molly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Cardiff handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Molly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Molly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Cardiff will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Molly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Molly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Cardiff early rather than rehoming privately; they know Molly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
