Adopt Morris

Labradoodle · Male · Adult · 6 years

Unstable, mega teenager and extremely seeking clarity. I am a young guy and also quite big. I was handed over to the animal shelter because I started showing excessive behavior towards my housemates at home. I am an intelligent dog and need clear guidance. If my owner is not clear, I tend to take matters into my own hands and I don't hesitate to growl to make my point clear, and if that's not enough and it's not handled in the right positive way, I can even bite. Everything depends on clear communication with me and from me. I actually really like it when my owner makes the choices and especially confirms my good behavior. Then I really blossom and am then truly a fun guy. I'm full of energy so my new owner must not only be solid in their shoes and have a lot of experience with dog behavior, but also want to go out with me so I can run and play to burn off that energy. I also think mental work is the best and I enjoy doing that here at the animal shelter. I can still be very strong on the leash with walking, but again, it all depends on the clarity my owner provides me. I really want to do very well and I have so much fun when I get positive feedback. Given my instability and unpredictable behavior, I will definitely not be rehomed with children. My appearance really masks that I can come from a tough angle when it comes to my toys or food. Are you the confident, experienced owner who can positively guide and support my desirable behavior and isn't afraid of a lot of action? Our caregivers would be happy to tell you more about me and perhaps you can offer me the suitable place I'm looking for. If you are interested in this guy, please send us an email with information about your experience with dogs, your living and lifestyle situation, and what your expectations are for your new companion. You can email us at , also please include your phone number so we can call you.

About Morris

What life with Morris looks like

Morris is a adult labradoodle dog waiting at Dierenasiel Crailo in Hilversum.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Morris, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Morris?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenasiel Crailo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Morris on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Morris if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenasiel Crailo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Morris already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Morris isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenasiel Crailo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Morris and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
