adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Morty has found his people! His story: The sweet Morty is a true treasure! Friendly, wonderfully beautiful, and cuddly. Trustingly, he places his life in our hands and hopes for a better future, for in his short life, he has had little luck. Morty has not yet experienced what it feels like to have loving people by his side, who care for the little puppy, love him, treat him respectfully, and patiently raise him. No, this feeling is unknown to the little puppy, because no one wanted him, and that's why Morty is in the shelter in Baia Mare. There, the poor little one is currently safe, but he should stay there only as long as absolutely necessary, because it is not an option for him to grow up in the overcrowded public shelter! That's why Morty now has a name and, for the first time in his life, an identity. He has been photographed and is now searching on this page for loving people who can take him in and give him a permanent home. But we would also be very happy if he could show what a great boy he is in a foster home. Morty is only about 3 months old and still a real baby. His fur is cuddly, soft, and reddish-brown, and his eyes and nose gleam glossy black and wet. Morty is incredibly cuddly and enjoys every affection from us humans. We value that he will grow into a small to medium-sized dog who, of course, should be cuddled and pampered, but also like every dog, should be encouraged and challenged. Of course, Morty will fit in well in his new home, although of course, he has no experience with life as a house dog and knows nothing about house training and leash obedience. But the cute and clever puppy will surely learn the Welpen-1×1 in no time. In a few months, Morty will enter puberty, which will bring everything he has learned so far into question and test the boundaries anew. But with a little humor and patience and a lovingly consistent upbringing style, Morty will emerge from this phase as a well-raised and self-assured young dog and accompany his family faithfully and reliably in all activities. When Morty has settled in, he will surely be delighted with a visit to a positively working dog training class, which will support his self-confidence and the bond to his new owners. For the wonderful Morty, we wish a loving and active family that meets him respectfully and gives him enough time to find his way in the new situation. His new people should offer him plenty of dog contact and be willing to work patiently and consistently on the puppy's upbringing. If you fall in love with the sweet Morty and want to offer him an appropriate dog life, then contact us! Thank you to the namingsponsor Lena, who gave Morty his beautiful name and thus an identity. Date: 19.04. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 19.04.2024

About Morty

What life with Morty looks like

Morty is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Morty, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Morty?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Morty on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Morty if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Morty already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Morty isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Morty and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
