Mosek

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

Mosek is a dog who has gone through a lot in life. Born on a junkyard, among forgotten places and rusted-out objects, as a puppy, he only knew cold, noise, and hunger. He saw people rarely. When he arrived at the animal shelter, he learned over time that touch is not always painful, and a human voice can be gentle. With each month, he took small, hesitant steps forward, until he finally began to trust. It was a huge success. After seven years of waiting, fate finally gave him a chance. He arrived at a temporary home where he met wonderful people—those who gave him more than he could have expected. They loved him, fought for him, and gave him more chances. Unfortunately, despite all the work and heart they put into it, it didn’t work out. Mosek didn’t get along with the resident dogs, and for everyone’s safety, he had to return to the animal shelter. This is not a story of defeat. It is a story of the courage of people and a dog. Because sometimes, despite the best intentions, things just don’t work out. And love is also about saying, “We tried everything, now we need to find another solution.” Mosek waits again. He is about 8 years old, loves walks, running in the yard, and treats that he would give his life for. He needs a quiet home where he will feel safe. Someone patient who will allow him to trust at his own pace. Mosek because of his difficult past must be the only dog. Behind all of this stands a dog who really wants to love. And people who showed him that it’s worth trying. May this story be the beginning of his true “happy end.”

PL·Show original

To historia o odwadze ludzi, i psa. A miłość to też umiejętność powiedzenia: „próbowaliśmy wszystkiego, teraz musimy znaleźć inne rozwiązanie”. Mosek znowu czeka. ❤️ 📞 Kontakt: 501 778 321

About Mosek

What life with Mosek looks like

Mosek is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Skałowo in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mosek, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mosek?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Skałowo handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mosek on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mosek if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Skałowo will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mosek already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mosek isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Skałowo early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mosek and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
