Mosel

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Mosel is a 2-year-old mixed breed from Greece who has been living in Germany for almost two years and is now looking for his forever home. He is friendly, sociable, playful, house trained, and stubborn. Mosel is a sturdy dog standing about 63 cm tall and weighing around 37 kg, but he has a sensitive heart. He loves being outdoors, running, playing with other dogs, and occasionally making mischief by throwing treats around the house to create his own games. Water isn't his element, but he enjoys walks and spending time together. Mosel is very open-minded towards people, especially children of all ages. However, potential owners should be aware that he can sometimes be a bit too enthusiastic. He gets along well with other dogs, but cats are not necessarily his best friends. At home, Mosel is easygoing: he is house trained, can stay alone for short periods (with a chew toy to keep him occupied), enjoys cuddling in the morning and reliably responds to commands like "sit." He even listens better than usual when told to lie down. When the doorbell rings, he alerts his owners with a bark, just as a good house guard would. Mosel also has some quirks: he doesn't enjoy car rides or showers but tolerates them. Vet visits are stressful for him, so he wears a muzzle to ensure everyone's safety, and he is making progress. Due to his sensitive nature, he sometimes experiences stomach problems when left alone for too long, so a home where he won't be left alone for extended periods would be ideal. Notably, Mosel has only one eye due to an injury last year that required surgery. However, this doesn't bother him at all; he adapts well and enjoys life with joy and energy. He occasionally suffers from ear infections, so some attention during grooming is beneficial. We are looking for a family or couple who can spend plenty of time with Mosel, lead him lovingly but firmly, and give him the attention he needs. A garden would be ideal for him, but a quieter home with a loving couple that spoils him and provides security would also suit him well. Children who are steady on their feet won't be a problem for Mosel. He is a sensitive, playful, and energetic dog who loves his humans unconditionally. With patience, affection, and clear guidance, he will become an incredibly loyal companion who brings joy to his new home. His stubbornness is typical of a Herder breed. Consistency, trust, and no pressure are key when managing Mosel's behavior. They have all been vaccinated, chipped, and have EU pet passports. They undergo age-appropriate checks for Mediterranean diseases. See the information on our website. Every dog we place makes room for those who suffer hunger and malnutrition in their lives.

AUFENTHALTSORT

About Mosel

What life with Mosel looks like

Mosel is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. in Greece.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mosel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mosel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mosel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mosel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mosel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mosel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mosel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
