Adopt Mouse

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Playful and active, interested, independent, and also uncertain, Mouse is a special female dog who has already come a long way. Anyone who looks into her eyes sees a soul that had to fight, but is now ready to give her heart. Mouse came to us together with her brother Mickey. Both were marked by a hard life on the street: hunger and mange had left their marks. However, while Mickey has already found his happiness and is doing wonderfully in his new home, the delicate Mouse with the distinctive white spot above her nose is still waiting for her chance. At first, Mouse was only a shadow of herself - shy, frightened, and incredibly thin. But those times are over! Mouse has made an incredible development: she now happily comes when called. She actively seeks eye contact. Most importantly: she allows herself to be touched and now even accepts cuddles. What her people need to know The time of hunger has shaped Mouse. She learned on the street that she has to fight for everything, which is why she shows a behavior of resource defense. This is not out of malice, but pure survival instinct. With growing trust, security, and confident leadership, this fear can be taken away from her. However, this requires people with empathy and clear structures. The ideal home for Mouse Since Mouse is not a beginner dog, we are looking for a special home that offers her the framework she needs: Experience: You should have experience in handling uncertain dogs and know how to set loving but consistent boundaries. Environment: A quiet, rural environment would be ideal to not overwhelm her. Household: Please no children in the household. If there is already a single dog, it must be a confident, larger dog that Mouse can orientate herself towards. We see Mouse, for example, as playful and active. Mouse needs a lot of physical and mental stimulation to remain happy and balanced. Mouse is ideal for active people who like to exercise or spend a lot of time outdoors. Mouse is a raw diamond who will shine in the right hands. Who has the heart and experience to show this brave female dog that she never has to fight for her food or her place again? Would you like to learn more about Mouse? Then contact her adoption officer! We look forward to your message. They are all vaccinated, microchipped, and have an EU passport. They are checked for Mediterranean diseases according to their age. See information on our homepage. Every adopted dog makes space for one of the dogs that live hungry and emaciated.

AUFENTHALTSORT

About Mouse

What life with Mouse looks like

Mouse is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. in Greece.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇷Adopting from Greece

Greek shelters often partner with Northern European rescue groups for placements. Animals are sterilized, vaccinated, and chipped before adoption. Fees vary widely depending on whether the shelter is municipal or NGO-run.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mouse, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mouse?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mouse on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mouse if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mouse already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mouse isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with A.C.E. Animal Compassion Europe - Tiere in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mouse and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
