Mozart

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

Adoption requirements | Adoption process | Inquire about this animal now! Adoption requirements | Adoption process | Inquire about this cat now! Only one year old and already been through so much. Mozart has spent his entire life so far on the streets in a very dangerous area with heavy traffic and no protection from wind and weather. Constantly exposed to danger, never a moment of peace, and no place where he truly belonged. Fortunately, Mozart was caught and brought to us into a foster home, where he experienced for the first time what safety feels like. In the foster home, it was discovered that he suffered from panleukopenia and giardia, and he received treatment. By now, he is fully recovered and healthy! Having had to grow up under such circumstances, it's understandable that the little red tiger is extremely shy and frightened. Mozart needs plenty of time to adjust and build trust. With patience and love, his new humans will surely succeed in winning his heart. Even now, Mozart purrs very softly when held, and the little guy quickly gets excited about treats. Anyone willing to show Mozart that he is safe and can learn to trust will, after some time, be rewarded with a grateful and loyal companion. Due to his fearful nature, we are only placing Mozart in a home that is suitable for apartment living. We also hope to find him a home where at least one other cat is already waiting for him or can move in together with him. He would happily bring along a friend from the foster home. Mozart is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. The little tiger comes with his EU pet passport and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV. For an adoption fee, he can begin his journey to a new life. If you'd like to take Mozart by the paw and show him, with lots of love, how wonderful life can be, we look forward to hearing from you. Many heartfelt thanks to Margarita: You gave the little tiger his name and thus helped him start a new life. As of: 05.05. This animal was abandoned.

About Mozart

What life with Mozart looks like

Mozart is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mozart, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mozart?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mozart on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mozart if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mozart already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mozart isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mozart and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
