Mr. Camel

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

Please help Mr. Camel by sharing this page! Mr. Camel AKA Cam or Camel, is a big cuddle monster of 8-9 years in the care of Leicester Animal Aid. Mr. Camel can live with dog savvy children from age 10. He absolutely loves people, that includes meeting strangers. He needs to be the only pet at home as he's not a fan of other dogs or cats. If you've only got two legs though, he will be instantly your best friend! Mr. Camel doesn't need much exercise at all. He wants a good, secure garden to snuffle about in and likes an adventure in the car to a secure field somewhere in the countryside. He can be strong on the lead and wants to avoid other dogs so, if you do take him for a wander, it needs to be a quiet area where he can just potter along and not have to meet any four-legs. Mr. Camel's soppiness is legendary at Leicester Animal Aid , making him a firm favourite with staff and volunteers. He spends his lunchtimes in the staff room getting as much fuss as possible! Once Mr. Camel has settled in to his new home and got the hang of the routine, it's thought he could be left for up to 4 hours. He's clean in the home and just generally a sweet old gentleman. He's a biddable boy, especially when treats are on offer because food is his main passion in life, after love! Kennels are no place for an older dog with so much love to give. If you can help Mr. Camel and give him the cuddles he deserves, please contact Leicester Animal Aid as follows: or fill in an Interested Parties Form here. Please say you saw Mr. Camel on the Oldies Club website. This replaces Mr. Camel's previous page dated 25 January 2026.

About Mr. Camel

What life with Mr. Camel looks like

Mr. Camel is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mr. Camel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mr. Camel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mr. Camel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mr. Camel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mr. Camel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mr. Camel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mr. Camel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
