Nala

Labrador Retriever · Male

Nala will not be available for at least another 4 weeks when we will review all our applications for her. Two Year-Old Silver Labrador Seeking Her Perfect Match Say hello to Nala, a gorgeous 2-year-old silver Labrador with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Nala is a happy, people-loving whirlwind who greets life with full enthusiasm. She’s the definition of a “bull in a china shop” — friendly, affectionate, and sometimes a bit too exuberant in her excitement to say hello! When Nala first arrived, she needed support with mild resource guarding and general manners. With consistent training, both areas have improved hugely. Her impulse control is much better, her listening skills have come on brilliantly, and she’s learning that calm behaviour gets her all the good stuff. Her resource guarding has reduced significantly with structure, and she responds beautifully to fair, confident guidance. Nala will thrive with an adopter who is experienced, steady, and confident, someone happy to keep building on the great progress she’s already made. Clear boundaries and structure help her shine — she’s smart, eager, and thrives when she knows what’s expected. Ideal Home Best as an only dog, where she can soak up all the training, attention, and affection. We may consider a home with a calm, neutral male dog, depending on careful introductions. Other dogs can make her a bit uncertain, but the right dog could genuinely help build her confidence. A home comfortable with a fun, strong, enthusiastic young Lab who benefits from guidance and routine. Personality Nala is a loving, affectionate, goofy girl who adores people. She’s not shy or anxious — if anything, she arrives with enthusiasm first and thoughts second! She’s cuddly, playful, and full of joy, and she bonds quickly with those she trusts. This little powerhouse has so much potential and so much love to give. With the right home, she’s going to make a fantastic companion. If you think Nala could be the girl for you please email Joan Falvey () to request an application form.

About Nala

What life with Nala looks like

Nala is a large adult labrador retriever dog waiting at Labrador Lifeline Trust in Tadley.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Labrador Lifeline Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Labrador Lifeline Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Labrador Lifeline Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
