Nala

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Nala, female dog born in October 2024. Nala is approximately 1.5 years old, a female dog with a biscuit-colored coat and weighing 15.5 kg. She is a medium-sized dog in good health, with a balanced, friendly temperament. When she arrived at the animal shelter, she was very scared and underweight. However, thanks to care and a sense of security, she has undergone a beautiful transformation - today she is an open, joyful and extremely sociable female dog who eagerly seeks human contact. She really enjoys the company of people, and interaction with a caregiver brings her clear pleasure - she can even jump onto knees and calmly rest, drawing joy from closeness. Nala also does very well in relationships with other dogs. She loves playing on the yard, willingly engages in interactions and gets along very well with dog companions. We have not observed any aggressive behavior in her. She is a moderately active female dog - she likes movement and play, but can also calm down. She walks very nicely on a leash, which will greatly help her find her way in a new home and daily walks. She is a good eater, has a good appetite, which may be helpful in further training and learning. In the crate, she keeps it clean and does not show tendencies to destroy. However, it should be noted that she can be quite yappy, which may result from her vigilance and desire to communicate with her surroundings. Nala is a female dog who has had a difficult beginning, but has shown how great her potential for change and relationship building is. Today she is a true "soul of company" - full of life, warmth and ready to be part of someone's daily routine. We are looking for a loving home that will provide her with stability, attention and further care. Nala will certainly repay with devotion and joy, which she brings into the lives of everyone who gives her a chance. Nala is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed and neutered.

Nala, sunia urodzona w październiku 2024 roku. Nala to około półtoraroczna suczka o biszkoptowym umaszczeniu i wadze 15,5 kg. Dzięki opiece i poczuciu bezpieczeństwa przeszła jednak piękną przemianę – dziś to otwarta, radosna i niezwykle kontaktowa suczka, która chętnie szuka bliskości człowieka.

About Nala

What life with Nala looks like

Nala is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) in Poland.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nala, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nala?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nala on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nala if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nala already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nala isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Janik (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nala and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
