Nalani

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Nalani was locally adopted! Her story: Bistrita, Romania. Something still doesn't quite fit: Too big paws on still too short legs, a cuddly teddy fur in the middle of the rough shelter environment, still too much puppy for too little love and petting hours. And what does Nalani do? She continues to embody these contrasts externally: So a dark-drawn head meets the hesitant, cream-white body. And the already painfully sad puppy eyes meet a friendly, trusting character. Nalani and her brother Arwen are only three months old – and have already seen so much of the shadow side of life that it surpasses what one dog's life can hold. So Nalani is once again on the search for a contrast: The sunny side of life. For her, that would be a loving home, preferably with other dogs (whether that applies to cats, we unfortunately don't know), definitely with heartwarming people, and lots of walks. Nalani currently weighs 9 kg and will reach a medium-sized female dog size. She is still a very young female dog and will have to learn a lot more. So one or another mishap shouldn't be taken out on Nalani and she should always be guided with a positive reinforcement training style. A visit to the puppy school can also strengthen the bond and create a beautiful foundation for all the coming happy years. In the first year of life, young dogs should be as little alone as possible. Additionally, the more exhausting puberty is approaching. The hormone chaos turns the lives of the little rascals upside down. They "forget" often everything they have learned so far and the ears are on full blast. Therefore, it is especially important to consistently – but lovingly – train in this phase. And there is also good news: This phase will pass! Our Nalani is not yet neutered due to her age, but she is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas. She has an EU pet passport and can be adopted after a positive foster home trial. Even a foster home would already be a wonderful first step towards a happy future. Do you show Nalani the sunny side of life? Then we look forward to your inquiry. Even a foster home would already be a wonderful first step towards that. Many thanks Chill A.! You named Nalani!

Und was macht Nalani? Vielen Dank Chill A.! Du hast Nalani ihren Namen geschenkt!

About Nalani

What life with Nalani looks like

Nalani is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nalani, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nalani?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nalani on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nalani if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nalani already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nalani isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nalani and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
