Nanuc

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Nanuc has found a home! His story: Nanuc, with his cute white blaze and fluffy puppy fur, captured everyone's hearts right away. In his young life, he has already experienced a lot. His mother gave birth to him and his siblings under a building, in constant danger because the neighborhood wanted to get rid of them. Fortunately, everyone was brought to safety in time. Now, to his good fortune, he still needs his own family. Despite his difficult start, Nanuc shows openness and friendliness. For his age, he is rather calm and sometimes appears a bit thoughtful. Of course, he also has the typical curious and playful sides of a puppy. At about 4 kg, he currently weighs on the lighter side but is expected to grow to a medium size. Since mixed breeds are unpredictable, we cannot rule out hound or herding dog genes. Like all young dogs, Nanuc is in the exciting puppy phase where he can discover and learn a lot. In a few months, he will enter puberty, a phase where young dogs change, show insecurity, or test boundaries. Those who stand by him with patience, loving clarity, and reliability during this phase can build a deep and trusting bond with him. Positive dog training classes can also accompany him on his journey. Nanuc can travel from mid-August. He will be microchipped, vaccinated, treated for fleas, and dewormed with an EU pet passport. After a positive assessment, who shows the little Nanuc that the world can also be beautiful and friendly and gives him the chance at a secure life full of security? Many thanks to Sabine G., who not only gave Nanuc a name but also the chance at a new life! Date: 02.08.

Stand: 02.08.2025

About Nanuc

What life with Nanuc looks like

Nanuc is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nanuc, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nanuc?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nanuc on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nanuc if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nanuc already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nanuc isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nanuc and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
