Naomi

Mixed Breed · Female

I am Naomi, a female, neutered cat, born around 2018. I am social with other cats, but prefer not to be kept alone. I am calm and open to humans, affectionate and trusting. I have no handicap. Miau, miau. I would like to introduce myself. I used to live on the streets for a long time. I appreciated the proximity to humans because that's how I sometimes got food. A woman occasionally let me into her office when she was working, which I was very happy about, especially in winter, because it was warm and safe and there were kind words. Now that is not allowed anymore, the boss does not want any cats there. Luckily, an animal rights activist has agreed to take me in for care and here I am! Now I am looking for a real home from here! It's something I've only dreamed of, but now it should be within reach. It would be so nice if I could find a place where I can stay forever, where I am loved and well cared for, where I don't have to freeze in winter and I can just relax. I am a really nice cat, who gets along well with other cats and also enjoys being stroked by humans. In my future home, I really want to have a cat friend. I could also bring someone from my foster home with me and we would move in together if you don't have a cat yet. That wouldn't be a problem. And if you already have a cat, we would definitely get along. I am spayed, have already received my first vaccinations against cat flu and distemper, have been dewormed and de-fleaed, and when I travel to you, I will receive a microchip and a rabies vaccination. I will also be tested for FIV and FelV. You can read all of this in my EU pet passport. Then my coordinator will contact you and you can discuss everything else.

Standort: Rumänien, Orastie Geschlecht: weiblich, kastriert Geboren: etwa 2018 Charakter: sozial Artgenossen gegenüber. Keine Einzelhaltung! Eher ruhig. Menschen gegenüber offen und zutraulich. Handicap: keins Miau, miau. Deine Naomi

About Naomi

What life with Naomi looks like

Naomi is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Seelenkatzen e.V. in Barsinghausen.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Naomi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Naomi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelenkatzen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Naomi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Naomi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelenkatzen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Naomi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Naomi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelenkatzen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Naomi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
