Nasenbert

Male · Young · 3 years

When Nasenbert was found, he was in a bad condition with a very swollen nose – that’s how he got his name. Fortunately, he quickly recovered and his nose is now smaller. At first, Nasenbert only hid and buried himself under many blankets. Over time, he became braver: he first came out with his head (especially when he smelled food) and eventually the ice was broken and Nasenbert showed himself in all his glory. Now, he has mutated into a cuddler and can’t get enough attention. He uses his big cat head to push us when the stroking hands don’t come fast enough. Even though Nasenbert has largely shed his fearful side, one can still see how insecure he actually is. He is very stormy on his own, but reacts fearfully to unexpected or sudden movements. At first, he hit half playfully, half uncertainly; now, that has significantly decreased. Nonetheless, one should not pressure him. Due to this behavior, he is not suitable for children or cat beginners. A short visit to the cat house showed that Nasenbert is not particularly friendly to other cats. He would like to live as a single prince and be spoiled. According to him, there is never enough food. He demands a lot of attention and treats and shows himself to be very talkative. So cuddly and attentive he is, that we can imagine that his clinginess and endless appetite can also be exhausting. Probably, a single person in the new home cannot do him justice.

DE·Show original

About Nasenbert

What life with Nasenbert looks like

Nasenbert is a large young adult cat waiting at Tierheim Bonn in Bonn.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nasenbert, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nasenbert?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Bonn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nasenbert on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nasenbert if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Bonn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nasenbert already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nasenbert isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Bonn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nasenbert and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
