Natia

Mixed Breed · Female

Natia — is a very special little girl who recently arrived into our care. She had clearly had very little experience of the world and, understandably, found everything incredibly frightening. When she first arrived, Natia didn’t want to be handled or touched. She was terrified and her coat was in very poor condition. 💔 Since then, she has come such a long way. ❤️ Natia has been to the vet, where she was spayed, and she has been shaved down and had her ears attended to. Most importantly, she is beginning to understand that people can be kind. She will now allow us to touch her, handle her and even lift her. But there is still so much for this little girl to learn. And that’s where her new home comes in. 🏡 We are looking for a very special home for Natia, preferably with someone who has experience with Cockers and, importantly, experience with shy, nervous dogs. Someone who understands that trust takes time and is willing to give her the patience, consistency and reassurance she needs to flourish. We feel that living with another confident, friendly dog would be very important for Natalia. Having a canine companion to show her that the world isn’t such a scary place could make a huge difference to her confidence. Natia is a very sweet girl. She wants to trust. You can see it in her. She just needs someone to give her the time and space to get there. ❤️ We are looking for: 🐾 A calm, quiet and settled home 🐾 Someone with patience and an understanding of nervous dogs 🐾 Ideally, previous Cocker experience 🐾 A friendly, confident resident dog 🐾 A super-secure outdoor space 🐾 Someone who has the time to help Natalia learn about life at her own pace 🐾 A family or person who understands that progress may be slow, but will be incredibly rewarding For Natia , the world is still a very big and sometimes very scary place. But we genuinely believe she is now ready to take that next step — into a home where she can learn all those important things that other dogs take for granted. She has already come so far. Now she just needs her person. ❤️ If you think you could be the calm, patient and understanding home Natia needs, please get in touch with us.

About Natia

What life with Natia looks like

Natia is a extra-large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Almost Home Animal Rescue NI in Belfast.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Natia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Natia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Almost Home Animal Rescue NI handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Natia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Natia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Almost Home Animal Rescue NI will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Natia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Natia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Almost Home Animal Rescue NI early rather than rehoming privately; they know Natia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
