NAVIS

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten

The little NAVIS is also looking for his own hiding place. The little tiger came as a newborn kitten in July 2026 to our cat nursery. There he was raised with a bottle and has grown into a young cat that is attached to humans. He currently lives in a cat group and is well socialized. NAVIS would like to have another young tomcat (also 2 or 3 playmates) in his new home to wrestle and play. He is used to following his caregivers everywhere in the house, which should also be the case in his new home. After acclimatization and castration, outdoor access in a traffic-calmed environment should be possible. The little guy is dewormed, vaccinated once and microchipped. If you want to experience the handsome tiger in action and can offer him a suitable home, please contact us or write us an email with the most important information about your situation.

About NAVIS

What life with NAVIS looks like

NAVIS is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierschutzinitiative Odenwald in Wald-Michelbach.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting NAVIS, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about NAVIS?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzinitiative Odenwald handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw NAVIS on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt NAVIS if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzinitiative Odenwald will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is NAVIS already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if NAVIS isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzinitiative Odenwald early rather than rehoming privately; they know NAVIS and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
