The gray-striped Smoke (born around 2018) with a deep voice loves to lie in the sun and nap. Like many other feral former housecats, he was spotted as a new arrival at a supervised feeding station, then caught and neutered by our experienced cat ladies. Now that his urge to constantly chase rolling kittens through the Odenwald has been taken away, he has secured his position in the cat group and enjoys the daily food service provided by our volunteer staff. He can then also sometimes bask in the sun at a sheltered spot. The veterinarians estimate him to be around 5 to 7 years old, but he seems to have made no good experiences with people so far. At first, he was always very scared and constantly ready to flee, but now he approaches the food ladies, but does not want to be touched. He gets along very well with the other animals at the feeding station. We also wish to find sponsors for Smokes comfort at the feeding station after the long time as an unneutered tomcat on the wander with a regular contribution. Here’s the sponsorship application.

Der graugetigerte Smoke (ca. 2018 geboren) mit der tiefen Stimme liebt es, in der Sonne zu liegen und zu dösen. Auch er wurde wie viele andere verwilderte ehemalige Hauskatzen als Neuzugang an einer betreuten Futterstelle gesichtet, dann von unseren erfahrenen Katzenfrauen eingefangen und kastriert. Da ihm nun der Drang genommen ist, sich ständig auf der Fährte rolliger Kätzinnen durch den Odenwald zu schlagen, hat er sich seine Position in der Katzengruppe gesichert und genießt den täglichen Futterservice durch unsere ehrenamtlichen Mitarbeiterinnen. Da kann er dann auch schon mal die Sonne an einem geschützten Plätzchen genießen. Die Tierärzte schätzen ihn auf etwa 5 bis 7 Jahre, allerdings scheint er mit Menschen bisher keine guten Erfahrungen gemacht zu haben. Anfangs war er immer sehr schreckhaft und ständig fluchtbereit, inzwischen kommt er an die Futterfrauen heran, möchte aber nicht angefasst werden. Mit den anderen Tieren der Futterstelle kommt er sehr gut aus. Auch für ihn wünschen wir uns Paten, die Smokes Auskommen an der Futterstelle nach der langen Zeit als unkastrierter Kater auf Wanderschaft mit einem regelmäßigen Beitrag sichern.
