Adopt Negro – Vermittlungshilfe

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

Name: Negro (means black) Breed: Elsässisch-Deutscher German Shepherd male dog Character: very good and social with people. Senior Negro has already been in the animal shelter for one year, and the winter is very hard on him in the kennel. It's a region where it gets very cold. He lived in a house with a garden and was used to running around freely. Unfortunately, the house was seized, and Negro had to go into the animal shelter at the age of 10 years. He is allowed out on a run once a day for 15 minutes, during which he is initially occupied with sniffing and enjoys smelling something different from what he can in his kennel. After that, he comes to the volunteers to get some attention. He loves it when someone throws a ball for him to play with. Negro walks well on a leash. He hasn't been tested with cats yet, but this can be organized upon request. Although he is older, his hind legs are still quite good. He just lacks muscle mass... 🙁 Ideally, he would find a home with a loving family in a house with a garden. It's really very hard for him in the kennel because he had a family for ten years and the cold, concrete floor, and constant barking (24-hour noise) are taking their toll. Negro will be rehomed via Email: (only in English or Spanish) In case of language issues, please contact Email: Videos:

About Negro – Vermittlungshilfe

What life with Negro – Vermittlungshilfe looks like

Negro – Vermittlungshilfe is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Hunde ohne Heimat e.V. in Bedburg.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Negro – Vermittlungshilfe, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Negro – Vermittlungshilfe?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hunde ohne Heimat e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Negro – Vermittlungshilfe on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Negro – Vermittlungshilfe if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hunde ohne Heimat e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Negro – Vermittlungshilfe already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Negro – Vermittlungshilfe isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hunde ohne Heimat e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Negro – Vermittlungshilfe and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
