A cat named Nell, a mix of a Persian and a Maine Coon, was found outside, alone and unattended by her owners who would have kept an eye on her. It only took one unfortunate moment. An injury. Pain. An injury that has followed her to this day... Nell has an old pelvis fracture. Unfortunately, it was not treated in time and the bone has already re-grown - but incorrectly. As a result, Nell cannot take a normal step. She limps. It hurts her. She looks sadly at the other cats. She would like to run and jump too, but she simply can't do it in this condition. Pain won't let her. This is not how life should be. Nell had her first surgery, which lasted about 6 hours. It was led by an experienced orthopedic surgeon who has helped us save dozens of animals with the most complicated injuries. But it turned out that this was a real tough nut. The injury is old, the affected part of the pelvis is very twisted and constantly returned to its original position... Simply put, all standard procedures failed. We cannot let Nell just limp and struggle with pain. It just won't do. The doctor immediately started thinking of alternative procedures and fortunately got an idea how it could be fixed differently. Nell will get a few days of recovery time and then a second surgery will take place. We will use the funds raised to buy food, cat litter and cover veterinary and other costs related to caring for the animals. Some problems are not visible at first glance. But that doesn't mean they don't hurt...

Co přesně se jí stalo už asi nezjistíme. Jedno je ale jasné: byla venku, sama a bez dozoru páníčků, kteří by na ni dávali pozor. Pak už stačil jen jeden nešťastný okamžik. Úraz. Bolest. Zranění, které se s ní táhne dodnes… Kočička má starou zlomeninu pánve. Bohužel se neřešila včas a kost už stačila znovu srůst – jenže špatně. Výsledkem je, že Nell nedokáže udělat normální krok. Kulhá. Bolí ji to. Smutně kouká po ostatních kočičkách. Chtěla by taky běhat a skákat, jenže to v tomhle stavu prostě nedokáže. Bolest jí to nedovolí. Takhle by přeci život vypadat neměl. Nell má za sebou první operaci, která trvala asi 6 hodin. Vedl ji zkušený ortoped, který nám pomohl zachránit už desítky zvířátek s těmi nejkomplikovanějšími zraněními. Jenže se ukázalo, že tohle je opravdu tvrdý oříšek. Zranění už je staré, postižená část pánve je hodně vyrotovaná a neustále se vracela zpátky do původní polohy… Zkrátka a dobře, všechny standardní postupy selhaly. Nemůžeme Nell nechat jen tak pajdat a potýkat se s bolestmi. To prostě nejde. Pan doktor proto okamžitě začal vymýšlet alternativní postupy a naštěstí dostal nápad, jak by to šlo opravit ještě jinak. Nell dostane pár dnů času na rekonvalescenci a poté proběhne druhá operace. Získané finance využijeme na nákup krmení, kočkolitu a úhradu veterinárních a dalších nákladů souvisejících s péčí o zvířátka. Některé problémy nejsou na první pohled vidět. To ale neznamená, že nebolí...
