DOG NEMO OK. 11 YEARS 616093901290555 (276/20) SIZE: MEDIUM VACCINATIONS: YES neutering: YES BOKS: C-4 FAST DRAW: – dog taken from Radys – gentle, withdrawn, delicate – in the kennel he plays with the bully, but in contact with a human he is always withdrawn and gentle – has good and bad days – needs a huge amount of support – afraid of other dogs – greedy, works well on food Hello, my name is Nemo. Did you know that my name comes from the Latin noun meaning – exactly! – "nobody." Nobody. And although I only received this name recently, for most of my life I was Nobody. I spent 7 years at Radys, wearing the number 4519 on my collar – during those 7 years, I tried to exist in such a way that no one noticed my existence, because that was the easiest way to survive in that place. It's been some time since Radys closed. Time spent working on myself, on improving myself… on existing. On convincing myself that life is more than just being. That life is being Somebody. So, who am I today? Well, I'm still a strongly withdrawn, fearful, and traumatized dog. But that's not all! I'm also sensitive, delicate, and gentle. I'm greedy! And that path to my heart is the shortest through my stomach. I also like to create an impression – behind the kennel fence, I try to look fierce, I bark and show my teeth, though it's hard for me to say why. I'm a skilled walker. On some days, the wind in my fur and the promise of an adventure are what play in my heart. But on other days, the whole outside world terrifies me. I can also be a model groomer. There are moments when I truly appreciate a gentle massage and being scratched behind the ears. But there are also days when I shy away from tenderness. I don't have many doggy friends, I'm more afraid of them, but that doesn't mean I'm completely antisocial – there are moments when I appreciate the company of another four-legged being. I know that my existence can be roughly described as… ambivalent. Imprecise. Vague. I know that it won't be easy to understand me. But the key to understanding my being is support. Yes, I – Nobody, like everyone else, need human support. In small things and in bigger things. In moments of doubt. I need to feel that you are always with me, always. Physically and spiritually. That you observe me and my hesitations, that you support me in making decisions on our shared path. That you will never, but really never, abandon me in my doubts. And that's about it. Life with someone like me – someone who is just beginning to be Somebody – won't be easy and will be filled with shared affirmations. I will need a huge amount of patience, love, understanding, and attention. I will require a quiet and peaceful place – in your home and in your life. And maybe, finally, fully, I will become Somebody More. I wait, Nemo. Description prepared by the animal shelter volunteer. – „nikogo”. Pan Nikt. Cóż, wciąż jestem mocno wycofanym, silnie lękowym i straumatyzowanym psem. Ale to nie wszystko! Jestem też czuły, delikatny i łagodny. W drobnych sprawach i w sprawach poważniejszych. Obecny i ciałem i duchem. I to tyle właściwie. Będę potrzebował ogromu cierpliwości, miłości, wyrozumiałości i uwagi. Będę wymagał cichego i spokojnego miejsca – w Twoim Domu i w Twoim życiu. About NEMO

What life with NEMO looks like

NEMO is a senior dog waiting at Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk in Gdansk.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting NEMO, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about NEMO?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw NEMO on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt NEMO if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is NEMO already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if NEMO isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Promyk Gdańsk early rather than rehoming privately; they know NEMO and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
