Neptune

German Shepherd · Male · Adult · 4 years

NEPTUNE, a magnificent German Shepherd to adopt through the association UMA (44450 St Julien de Concelles) SIREN NUMBER: 794786228 GENDER: Male DATE OF BIRTH: 04/02/2017 IDENTIFICATION: 250268501225124 LOF/LOOF: No NUMBER OF ANIMALS IN THE LITTER: Unknown WEIGHT: 37.6 kg AGGRESSIONS: Ok with dogs, except entire males. Ok with children. Ok with cats. VETERINARY CARE AND: Anal fistulas necrosed, under treatment and disinfection twice a day. Hypoallergenic dry kibble for life. CAUSE OF WITHDRAWAL OR ASSUMPTION: Abandonment. Poor living conditions. Malnutrition. Lack of care. After a first owner, his second owner left him in a cage without food or care with a choke collar. The teenager contacted the association because it smelled terrible in her apartment (she never let him go outside to do his business). TEMPERAMENT: Neptune is a very gentle dog with humans and females. He is a very attentive love dog. His next family will need to spend time teaching him human and canine codes: he doesn't know how to play, so when he is happy, he doesn't know how to limit his actions. When his human arrives or stands up, he tends to jump and nuzzle out of joy, so he will need to learn to channel his energy. His bad experience with the choke collar prevents him from fully enjoying his walks, but meeting other dogs and various walks do him the world of good. His special trait? He climbs into every car trunk! His adoptive family must also commit to setting aside a monthly budget for his anal fistulas, which will be cured in 16 weeks. Very affectionate, this love dog is looking for a forever home and deserves a chance. Come meet him in his foster family! PLACEMENT CONDITIONS: House with a well-fenced yard. ADOPTION DEPARTMENTS: - 44, 85 - 18, 03, 58 (60 km around Bessais-le-Fromental) - 49, 35, 56 depending on the area SPECIFY IN YOUR EMAIL: Your city, your department, and your phone number ADOPTION FEES:

NEPTUNE, magnifique Berger Allemand à adopter via l'association UMA (44450 St Julien de Concelles) NUMÉRO DE SIREN : 794786228 SEXE : Mâle DATE DE NAISSANCE : 04/02/2017 IDENTIFICATION : 250268501225124 LOF/LOOF : Non NOMBRE D'ANIMAUX DANS LA PORTÉE : Inconnu POIDS : 37,6 kg ENTENTES : Ok chiens sauf mâles entiers. Ok enfants. Ok chats. About Neptune

What life with Neptune looks like

Neptune is a large adult german shepherd dog waiting at 30 Millions d'Amis in Paris.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Neptune, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Neptune?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. 30 Millions d'Amis handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Neptune on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Neptune if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — 30 Millions d'Amis will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Neptune already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Neptune isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with 30 Millions d'Amis early rather than rehoming privately; they know Neptune and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
