Nes &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male

I am Nes, an 8-month-old Malinois. Some of you may already know my story. At just 4 months old, I was hit by a car and abandoned at the vet. With multiple fractures, surgeries, and weeks of recovery, I can finally start living a real life. And let me tell you, I intend to enjoy it! I am a happy, curious, and energetic dog. Despite my accident, I have regained good mobility and a lot of energy. My body still needs to be preserved, so several short walks are better for me than a long hike. At home, I am clean and easy to live with. I do not jump on the couch or bed and love to return to my bed with all my little treasures and discreetly stolen objects (oops!). I am also a big clingy. When the petting stops a bit too soon, a few little head butts on your arm should make the message clear. With the humans I know, I am extremely affectionate, with strangers, I need to observe before trusting. I share my daily life with two adult dogs, I love playing with them and enjoying their presence. They also play a very important role for me: their calm helps me relax. I am very happy to meet new dogs, but I still lack a bit of delicacy in my introductions. I also know cats, but if they start running, my brain can tell me that chasing them would be a great idea. I also know turtles, chickens, ducks, fish, and horses. Some still intrigue me, but again, I am learning. My accident has left its mark, motorized vehicles can worry me and I am much calmer in quiet and low-traffic areas. My accident will always be part of my story, I will need activity, of course, but especially reflection, learning, and a daily life where I can learn to calm down. I am still a big baby, and I now deserve to discover everything life has to offer.

About Nes &#8211

What life with Nes &#8211 looks like

Nes &#8211 is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Association Ron'Rhône in Lyon.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nes &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nes &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Association Ron'Rhône handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nes &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nes &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Association Ron'Rhône will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nes &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nes &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Association Ron'Rhône early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nes &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
