Het begin: Op 22-09-2026 vond visboer Christos Nestor in de zee. Bij de rotsen van Kyparissia, was Nestor te water geraakt en kon niet meer op het droge komen. Gelukkig was Christos er op het juiste moment! Hij redde hem uit het water en bracht hem meteen naar de dierenarts. Natuurlijk was Nestor onderkoeld. Hij werd opgewarmd en gedroogd; eerst met een föhn en vervolgens onder de rode lamp gelegd. Het was afwachten of hij de nacht door zou komen. En dat kwam hij! Meteen ’s ochtends kwamen er fotootjes van de kleine Nestor die heerlijk aan het smullen was. Het ging stukken beter met hem! Nestor werd gecheckt op FiV en FelV, gevaccineerd en kreeg de nodige anti-parasieten behandeling en… mocht mee met Giannis naar de FTS Safe Haven. Helaas bleek de volgende ochtend dat Nestor toch wel vol snot zat. Hij werd opnieuw meegenomen naar de dierenarts, waar hij een antibiotica prikje kreeg, wat alles natuurlijk weer moet verhelpen! Vanochtend (25-09-2026) gaat het weer prima met de kleine man. Hij spint, (vr-)eet en is blij met alle aandacht. Hij zit als een kleine papagaai op Giannis’ nek. En Giannis? Is zo blij als blik dat Nestor het zo goed doet. 𝗢𝗽 𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝐍𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘃𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻. Vandaag doen we ons best om voor Nestor in ieder geval een virtueel mandje te vinden, een soort van eigen familie (maar dan op afstand). Sommige dieren kunnen misschien echt niet, of hebben een hele kleine kans om naar Nederland te komen. Daarnaast heeft niet iedereen de ruimte of financiële middelen om er een huisgenoot bij te nemen. Maar wil je misschien wel structureel een beetje bijdragen en een lieverd steunen dan is virtueel adopteren of sponsoren op afstand hopelijk misschien iets voor jou (en dan bijvoorbeeld onze overlever van vandaag Nestor).
