Meet Neyla in another video! Snuggly female dog looking for a snuggle partner! Neyla was rescued from the Romanian street and taken in by the shelter. More information about how the dogs come to the shelter and answers to general questions can be found in our animal protection FAQ. Neyla is a loving, active, and human-oriented female dog. She actively seeks out human company and shows her affection with lots of physical contact and little "kisses." She is very clingy and enjoys every petting session thoroughly. Nayla had additional injuries on her neck besides the wounds on her leg. She is currently under medical treatment. Our adoption team knows best about her exact health status. If you have any further questions, feel free to send us a message. We wish for this furry nose to find people who are aware that shelter dogs come with a certain history. We can never predict how a dog will react to life in Germany. Therefore, we are looking for people who bring patience, perseverance, and goodwill. But one thing is certain: By adopting instead of buying, you not only give an animal a second chance but also actively choose against animal suffering and for a life alongside a truly special companion. Already smitten? Send us a self-disclosure form! Adoption If you are thinking about adoption, read through the adoption process first. All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas, and neutered before travel arrangements (an exception are puppies up to 6 months old and very old dogs). Dogs older than 1 year are also tested for Mediterranean diseases. If you have any further questions, please send our adoption team a message.

About Neyla

What life with Neyla looks like

Neyla is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hunderettung Europa e.V. in Duisburg.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Neyla, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Neyla?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hunderettung Europa e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Neyla on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Neyla if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hunderettung Europa e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Neyla already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Neyla isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hunderettung Europa e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Neyla and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
