Nigel

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

LONG TERM FOSTER OR ADOPT This is the lovely Nigel He is about 2-3 years old, a right chatterbox and a big softy living fuss and cuddles. Nigel needs a family who will take great care of him. He will need to be an indoor cat or with a cat proof garden. Nigel is diabetic, so needs medication in his food daily. He will also need monthly urine tests to monitor any blood in his urine. Nigel is under the care of SPA vets in Gloucester and will need to be taken here for his monthly urine test and check up. It’s that simple. No injections need to be given. We feel a home with maybe 1 other cat/no dogs and no children under 8 years old. Cats Rescue Gloucestershire will cover the treatment for his diabetes for 12 months. After this it’s approximately £50 a month for the medication if adopting. If you’re interested in our beautiful Nigel please complete the adoption form below. A home check and adoption fee will apply. 😻

About Nigel

What life with Nigel looks like

Nigel is a large young adult mixed breed cat waiting at Cats Rescue Gloucestershire in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nigel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nigel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Cats Rescue Gloucestershire handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nigel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nigel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Cats Rescue Gloucestershire will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Nigel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nigel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Cats Rescue Gloucestershire early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nigel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
