Adopt Nim

Pomeranian · Female · Adult · 5 years

09-05-26 Nim is the loveliest girl who has come into our care from a breeder in search of a new start. She can feel a little worried when first meeting new people and may dance around your feet, but it doesn’t take her long to warm up. After just a short time with us, she was already excited to see familiar faces and was seeking out cuddles and fuss, showing her affectionate nature. She will be looking for a calm and quiet home where she can settle in at her own pace and would benefit from adopters with experience of ex-breeding dogs. We would consider homing her with dog savvy, gentle teenagers. Nim gets on wonderfully with other dogs and will need another kind and confident resident dog in her new home to be her friend. As Nim has never lived in a home before, she will need to learn all about house training, walking on a lead and harness, and the other basics of home life. With a gentle and consistent approach, she should begin to feel more secure and confident. Nim has arrived slightly overweight, so she will need a good diet and gentle exercise to help her reach and maintain a healthy weight. This will need to be continued in her new home. Nim is a sweet and loving little dog who clearly enjoys human company once she feels safe. She is likely to thrive in a home environment, and with patience and reassurance, she will make a wonderful and affectionate companion. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Nim

What life with Nim looks like

Nim is a adult pomeranian dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nim, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nim?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nim on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nim if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nim already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nim isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nim and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
