Nimbus

Poodle · Female · Adult · 5 years

09-05-26 Nimbus is a nervous, flighty little girl who has come to us from a breeder and finds the world quite overwhelming. She is touch-sensitive and clearly hasn’t been used to much handling, so she will need kind, patient adopters who can gently show her that human hands can be kind and reassuring. Despite her worries, once she is in your arms she does begin to relax and settle. Nimbus relies heavily on the comfort and reassurance of her kennel friends, so she will need a kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help guide and support her as she learns about life in a home and continues to build her confidence. When she feels unsure, she will often retreat to her bed or a quiet corner where she feels safe. As Nimbus has never lived in a home before, her adopters will need to be patient, gentle, and understanding while she learns all about home life and house training. Walking on a lead may feel overwhelming for her at first, so starting with gentle garden sniffs and allowing her to explore at her own pace will help her gain confidence. Nimbus is looking for a calm and understanding home with adopters who understand the needs of ex-breeding dogs and are willing to give her the time and space she needs to come out of her shell. With patience, kindness, and plenty of reassurance, we are hopeful she will slowly begin to flourish. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Nimbus

What life with Nimbus looks like

Nimbus is a adult poodle dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nimbus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nimbus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nimbus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nimbus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nimbus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nimbus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nimbus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
