Nimbus

Poodle · Female · Adult · 6 years

Nimbus is a beautiful girl who has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. When she first arrived, she was very nervous and found everything quite overwhelming. Since then she has started to settle in and has come out of her shell more each day. Nimbus has now moved to a wonderful foster home where she is getting to experience home life for the first time. While she is still nervous, she has settled into her foster home well. She really loves her food and will sleep all night quietly with the resident dog. She has been clean so far in the home, so is doing really well with her toilet training too. She has started learning all about walking on a lead and harness and now loves to go on walks, so we think she will really enjoy going on walks with her new family. Nimbus will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home with adopters who have plenty of time to spend with her and to help her settle in. She will need another kind and confident resident dog in her new home to be her friend and take her under their wing. It's clear how much she relies on her canine companions for reassurance. It's clear that she hasn't been used to much socialisation or handling prior to arrival with us and she is still quite wary of people and isn't keen on being handled, but once in your arms she does begin to relax and settle. She is a lovely lady and shows her personality more and more each day as she settles into her foster home. As Nimbus had never lived in a home before moving to foster, her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she continues to settle in and learn all about home life. With patience, kindness, and plenty of reassurance, she will slowly begin to flourish. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Nimbus

What life with Nimbus looks like

Nimbus is a adult poodle dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nimbus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nimbus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nimbus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nimbus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nimbus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nimbus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nimbus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
