Noah

English Bulldog · Male · Young · 3 years

Meet Noah, a sweet 3-year-old French bulldog with a sensitive heart and a deep need for safety, trust, and closeness. Noah came to us because things weren’t quite right at his previous home, where he lived with his son. That doesn’t mean Noah isn’t a loving dog—quite the opposite: those who give him the time to blossom will discover a huge cuddlebug who absolutely loves being close to his people. At first, Noah can be a bit uncertain. New situations, crowds, or changes can quickly overwhelm him. That’s why he needs people who can guide him calmly, without forcing anything, and give him the time to build trust at his own pace. Once he realizes he’s safe and that he can count on you, he’ll fully reveal his gentle side. Then he’ll eagerly seek out contact, thoroughly enjoy cuddles, and prefer to stay close to you. According to his foster family, Noah is very well-behaved on the leash. He walks nicely and thoroughly enjoys being close to his handler. He also loves interacting with both people and dogs—sometimes even all at once. He’s a social dog, but due to his uncertainty, it’s important that any encounters are calm and positive. A stable canine companion could be a good match—if there’s a proper introduction and sufficient guidance. Noah is a dog who strongly craves companionship. He absolutely loves having people around him and feels most comfortable when he doesn’t have to spend too much time alone. Being left alone is difficult for him; he can easily become overwhelmed. That’s why we’re looking for a home where Noah won’t have to spend long days alone and where people are willing to help him gradually get used to being alone in a calm, pressure-free way. As for potty training, there have been a few accidents at the foster home—but these occurred during particularly stressful times, so it’s quite possible that the change and stress played a role. With patience, structure, regular walks, and plenty of time, he can continue to improve in this area. We’re looking for a gentle, patient home for Noah—one where he’ll be given the time he needs to adjust. People who understand that trust doesn’t come overnight, but grows step by step. He needs stability, predictability, and loving guidance. A busy household with lots of chaos or young children might not be the best fit for him. A quiet home where his boundaries are respected and he’s allowed to blossom at his own pace would be ideal. If you give Noah that chance, you’ll gain an incredibly loyal, affectionate, and loving friend—a dog who may take a little time to fully let you in, but after that, nothing makes him happier than enjoying cuddles, company, and simply being together with you.

About Noah

What life with Noah looks like

Noah is a small young adult english bulldog dog waiting at Dierenbescherming Mechelen in Mechelen.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇧🇪Adopting from Belgium

Belgian shelters operate under regional law (Flanders, Wallonia, Brussels each have their own rules). All adoptions include the Eurochip, vaccinations, and a stewardship contract. Several Flemish shelters partner with Dutch and German rescue networks.

Frequently asked

Adopting Noah, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Noah?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenbescherming Mechelen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Noah on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Noah if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenbescherming Mechelen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Noah already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Noah isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenbescherming Mechelen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Noah and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
