Adopt Noel

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

The cute Noel was taken in together with his siblings at our shelter. At first, he was fighting with a skin disease that has now been successfully treated – today, the little man is healthy and ready to explore the world. Noel is puppy-like in his playfulness, curiosity, and energy. At the same time, he already shows a strong personality: among his siblings, he gladly takes the lead and makes it clear that he likes to be at the front. Towards people, he is very open and actively seeks closeness, attention, and cuddles. Currently, he finds everything that moves particularly fascinating. With patience, loving guidance, and consistent training, he will surely develop into a great companion. We do not know his exact mix, but he definitely brings intelligence, self-assurance, and a lot of charm. With other animals, he should get along well after getting used to them, as well as with understanding older children. For Noel, we wish for people who enjoy showing a young dog the world, giving him security, and challenging him both physically and mentally. Glück für Pfoten e.V. – The Path to a New Life – Tel. and Mail: including safety harness. As we are working, we might not be able to respond to you for a few hours. It is best to contact the above mentioned matchmaker initially in writing (by email or WhatsApp) and ask for a callback (don't forget to mention your phone number). Please be patient! Our shelter animals travel with Traces and are exclusively rehomed within Germany (nationwide). If you are applying for a dog and live in a rental, please arrange a written landlord's statement that the husbandry of (another or a new) dog is allowed. We only match dogs if no lift is available, to prevent health limitations.

About Noel

What life with Noel looks like

Noel is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Glück für Pfoten e.V. in Dortmund.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Noel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Noel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Glück für Pfoten e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Noel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Noel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Glück für Pfoten e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Noel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Noel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Glück für Pfoten e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Noel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
