Noname &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female

Noname is a found dog from one of our contract communities. For a long afternoon, the dog was observed by neighbors in front of a shopping market and then brought to us. Since a public posting did not yield any success, we are quite sure that the young pup was abandoned. He was not microchipped, and no one had reported him missing. For his previous owner, he was not even worth a note. So, he came to us with his new name. The hours in the icy cold have given him a serious lung infection, which has been successfully treated. He lives with a female dog here, and he behaves age-appropriately agile, but still requires a lot of training. The pubertier was not the little sweet puppy anymore, and he was simply discarded. He now wants to leave that behind and finally find his people. He is sportively ambitious, would like to be a second dog, and is willing to work on training together on how to behave properly through life and where in the training breaks there is enough time for play and fun. Whether he gets along with other animals needs to be tested on an individual basis or requires training. He can be rehomed into a family that can handle a child and a dog, of course, with the necessary caution assumed by the adults. A house with a garden would be great, but is not a condition at all if appropriately occupied. Who wants to start their future with Noname and turn the pubertier into a great lifelong companion? When his new home is found, Noname probably won't have any objections against a second nickname…

DE·Show original

About Noname &#8211

What life with Noname &#8211 looks like

Noname &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Noname &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Noname &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Noname &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Noname &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Noname &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Noname &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Noname &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
