Noodle

Border Collie · Female · Young · 2 years

Noodle is only two years old and is a little overwhelmed by her current circumstances. We know she loves to be stroked on her nose and playing fetch, but right now she's getting to grips with so many unfamiliar faces around her. She's a nervous Noodle, but she has made some lovely bonds with her handlers, and if her new family are prepared to come to meet her a few times before taking her home, she'll have bonded with them too. When she's feeling confident she loves to run zoomies around our off lead enclosures! Noodle also walks very nicely on her lead and has been happy to have doggy company for her walks, but she doesn't choose to interact much initially. When relaxed, she has play bowed at another dog and got herself very giddy before walking happily with her, so we know she has potential to have a nice social circle. Noodle ADORES toys! She likes to chase after them and play fetch, and she's discovered tuggy games too. This is an excellent way for her potential family to bond with her. Noodle can live with teenagers but will need to be the only dog at home for now. She is house trained and has previously been good when left by herself for a couple of hours. Noodle may need a few meets at the centre before going home as she is very nervous.

About Noodle

What life with Noodle looks like

Noodle is a young adult border collie dog waiting at Dogs Trust Merseyside in Liverpool.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Noodle, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Noodle?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Merseyside handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Noodle on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Noodle if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Merseyside will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Noodle already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Noodle isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Merseyside early rather than rehoming privately; they know Noodle and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
