Nora

Mixed Breed Β· Male

Nora D2026-26 🐾 7-Year-Old Jack Russell Terrier πŸ“ Fostered in Pen Y Cae, Powys βœ… Neutered βœ… Vaccinated βœ… Microchipped βœ… Up to date with flea and worming treatment Nora is a sweet, affectionate little girl who truly shines once she feels safe and secure with her people. She is lovely when out and about, happily meeting people on walks and in cafΓ©s. Nora is polite and well-mannered in public settings, enjoys gentle fuss from calm strangers, and is always delighted if a tasty little treat is on offer too! Since returning to foster after two months in an adoptive home, Nora has shown a noticeable increase in anxiety around visitors entering the home. During her first foster stay she would greet familiar visitors happily, jumping up beside them on the sofa and seeking affection. However, following her return, she became extremely worried when a previously familiar visitor came into the home β€” barking, holding a rigid posture, and maintaining a fixed stare. Importantly, there was no attempt to bite, but Nora remained unsettled and hyper-alert for several hours afterwards, continuing to low growl from another room until the visitor had left. Because of this, Nora will need a very calm, understanding home willing to give her time to rebuild her confidence and sense of security. She thrives on routine, predictability, and gentle handling. In her foster home, Nora is a happy and loving companion with the adults she trusts. Every day her confidence grows a little more. She adores cuddles, leaps onto laps for affection, and gives the sweetest little Nora kisses. She loves being involved in daily life, sniffing around the garden, and enjoying familiar routines with her foster family. Nora would not cope well in a busy or child-focused household. Young children, boisterous teenagers, or a noisy environment would make her very anxious. Any older children in the home would need to be calm, sensible, and able to fully respect Nora’s space and needs. Nora is excellent with the resi

About Nora

What life with Nora looks like

Nora is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Friends of Animals Wales in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" β€” quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures β€” to let them settle.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Friends of Animals Wales handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Friends of Animals Wales will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Friends of Animals Wales early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
