Adopt Norvard

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Native Country: Hungary The pretty Norvard arrived as a found dog at the animal shelter on May 16, 2026. He was alone wandering the city of Nagykörös. Thankfully, the animal shelter was informed and Norvard was safely secured without any injuries, unimaginable what could have happened. Whether he was abandoned or ran away from home, we do not know, but upon his arrival, he was very thin and scruffy. During the microchip check, no one was found, and no one had reported this wonderful dog as missing. As always, it’s unclear to us, but so Norvard got this name, which he received at the Menhely, a chance at a life with people who will love, value, and show him how wonderful life can be. Norvard is a fine fellow. Kind, friendly, open-minded, nice, simply a great four-legged friend who brings joy and is at the wrong place in the animal shelter. Norvard enjoys every pat and human affection and would love more of it. He needs a lot of love and closeness. Walking on a leash works well already, but is still in need of improvement. A little more must be drilled into Norvard, but it will definitely be fun to learn and practice with him, because he wants to please, learn, and simply be with his people. He wants to be meaningfully occupied and go on adventures with his people. Norvard will definitely be a great companion for his new two-legged friends, and it will be fun to spend time with him and teach him a few tricks. Maybe his people and he will also enjoy Agility or other “dog things.” Norvard gets along well with his fellow animals and is currently (June 2, 2026) being integrated into a mixed pack. For our charming Norvard, we are looking for enthusiastic and adventurous dog lovers and a wonderful home. Norvard deserves to be a valued friend to people and to make up for all the things he would love to experience: fun and varied walks, dog-appropriate exercise, love, security, care, safety, guidance, daily cuddles, and 100% family integration. A home where he is cared for and loved, and where he can enjoy his life carefree and without worry. Who can be a faithful companion to Norvard? Norvard can travel from late June 2026 if he finds a home or a foster home.

About Norvard

What life with Norvard looks like

Norvard is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Norvard, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Norvard?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Norvard on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Norvard if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Norvard already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Norvard isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Norvard and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
