Nouri

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Nouri, a confident young female dog with a lot of curiosity! This furry face comes from an euthanasia station in Romania. We explain how dogs end up there and more in our animal welfare FAQ . Nouri is an open-minded and self-confident young female dog who approaches new people openly. She comes to visitors curiously, greets them friendly and enjoys petting. In doing so, she actively seeks contact, runs back and forth between the people and shows herself very attentive and interested in her surroundings. Nouri also explores her environment with great curiosity outside of the kennel. On the playground she sniffs extensively and takes new impressions noticeably. She allowed the harness to be put on without problems and sought out human contact again and again to be petted. With her kennel companion, she shows herself unobtrusive, without seeking contact with him in particular. Nouri brings a lot of energy with her and is in the middle of her development. At the same time, she also shows open-minded and curious. We suspect that there is a livestock guardian dog (HSH) in Nouri. Please inform yourself here about the requirements for adopting a livestock guardian dog. HSH mixes are often very independent and need confident leadership. For Nouri we wish an experienced home, ideally with knowledge of livestock guardian dogs or corresponding hybrids. She is looking for people who enjoy showing an active, intelligent young female dog the way to a relaxed family life with clear guidance, suitable activity and loving consistency. We wish this furry face people who are aware that animal protection dogs bring a certain history with them. We can never predict in the shelter how a dog will react to life in Germany. That's why we look for people who have patience, perseverance and benevolence. But one thing is sure: Whoever adopts instead of buying not only gives an animal a second chance, but decides actively against animal suffering - and for a life with a very special companion at his side. Already in love? Send us a self-disclosure! Adoption If you are thinking about adoption, first read through the placement process. All dogs are vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, flea-free and neutered before departure (except for puppies up to 6 months and very old dogs). Dogs older than 1 year are also tested for Mediterranean diseases. If you have any further questions, please write a message to our placement team.

About Nouri

What life with Nouri looks like

Nouri is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hunderettung Europa e.V. in Duisburg.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nouri, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nouri?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hunderettung Europa e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nouri on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nouri if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hunderettung Europa e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nouri already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nouri isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hunderettung Europa e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nouri and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
