Nova

European Shorthair · Male · Young · 2 years

Nova is a lovely young male cat—just a bit shy. He has a positive outlook on life and genuinely thinks everything is just fine. He eats his food neatly from his bowl every time—a truly exemplary little fellow. However, he occasionally has trouble with bowel movements and urination; he doesn’t always manage to use the litter box properly. The cause remains unclear. We’ve tried pain medication—Metacam and Solensia—but while there was some improvement, the results weren’t lasting. Here at Anima’s Faith Foundation, we’re continuing our search, and the veterinarian is actively involved in the process. Nova is so kind and affectionate—a wonderful companion! He’s a real cuddlebug. He deserves a home where he’s not only seen for those “tricky accidents,” but also appreciated as a sociable, good-natured cat. Given his gentle nature, we believe Nova would be very happy in a fenced-in garden or on a nice balcony. Breed: European Shorthair / gray Gender: Male—neutered Date of birth: July 2024 Health check: Vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed Can live with children: Yes, provided they are supervised Can live with dogs: No Can live with cats: Yes, provided they are supervised If you can’t adopt Nova but still want to support him, click here and become a sponsor now!

About Nova

What life with Nova looks like

Nova is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Stichting Animals Faith in Netherlands.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nova, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nova?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting Animals Faith handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nova on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nova if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stichting Animals Faith will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nova already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nova isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting Animals Faith early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nova and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
