Nova

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Nova is ready to discover the world Nova is a handsome young male who has not seen much of the world yet in his life so far. He came to the shelter about 1.5 years ago together with his mother and siblings. Since he grew up there, he is currently still shy in his new surroundings. Name: Nova Age: approx. 1.5 to 2 years Size: approx. 45 cm (medium size) Neutered: Yes Compatibility: Excellent with other dogs and also knows cats Nature & Character A dream with four-legged friends, because Nova immediately thrives in the company of other dogs! He gets on well with all his fellow canines and is thrilled when he meets four-legged friends. A confident first dog in a new home would certainly make it easier for him to settle in. Shy around two-leggers: Since Nova has only recently left the shelter, the big wide world is still a bit overwhelming for him. He is initially reserved with humans and needs a moment to gain trust. However, he has already enjoyed being stroked in his safe and familiar environment. This shows how much potential he has! Curious & Ready: His curiosity almost always wins over shyness. He wants to learn and explore the world, but just needs the right support. The ideal home Nova is looking for understanding, patient people who give him the time he needs to settle into his new life. A quieter environment without a lot of hustle and bustle would be ideal to build trust. Do you want to show Nova how beautiful dog life can be? Nova has been chipped, vaccinated, neutered and regularly dewormed. He will be placed with a protection contract after a positive preliminary check and for a placement fee. He is currently in a private foster home in Turkey and would be ready to travel immediately.

About Nova

What life with Nova looks like

Nova is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Pfotenhilfe Antalya in Ansbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nova, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nova?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pfotenhilfe Antalya handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nova on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nova if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pfotenhilfe Antalya will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nova already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nova isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pfotenhilfe Antalya early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nova and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
