Nova

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 7 years

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Nova was locally rehomed! Her story: Nova was lucky and could grow up in a loving family in Romania and live her last years there with a good life. Unfortunately, circumstances have changed and a new home is being sought for Nova. Since it's not easy in Romania to find people who see the dog as a family member, the owners want to find a family outside of Romania. Nova is 7 years old, 58 cm tall, and weighs 27 kg. She is still very active and certainly not an older lady. She wants to be physically and mentally stimulated. Sniffing work is very important for these dogs, and we wish for people who also know this and decide consciously for this breed. Nova is a German Shorthaired Pointer and is also a handsome one. She is neutered, has undergone a current health check without any abnormalities, and is a super sweet female dog. She loves people and also knows children. She is very friendly with fellow animals. She would hunt cats and small pets, so they should not live in the family. Nova knows her leash and runs well on a leash, is house-trained, and knows how to drive a car. We are looking for people, lovers of these dogs. Adequate time for a species-appropriate mental stimulation is just as important as enough time for an adjustment and integration into daily life. Are you falling in love with this super beautiful German Shorthaired Pointer female dog named Nova? She travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas to her new home and brings her EU Companion Animal Certificate. Stand: 20.03.

Vielen Dank Lorna! Du hast Nova ihren schönen Namen geschenkt! Stand: 20.03.2023

About Nova

What life with Nova looks like

Nova is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nova, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nova?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nova on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nova if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nova already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nova isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nova and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
