Nuvola

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 18 years

At our animal shelter for abandoned cats, which for years has also welcomed and protected dogs in need, we strive every day to give a new chance to the most vulnerable animals. Our large furry family has recently welcomed a special member: Nuvola, a sweet female small dog who had lived too long in the wild, without care or protection. When we met her, leishmaniasis had already severely attacked her skin, but her eyes only asked for love and security. Today, Nuvola is with us, surrounded by affection, veterinary care, and daily attention. She has been operated on twice and is finally beginning to feel better. Every small improvement in her is a victory for our entire team and a concrete sign of how dedication can change the life of a suffering animal. In our animal shelter, we fight every day against abandonment, cruelty, and feralism, phenomena unfortunately still too widespread. We strive to sensitize people about the importance of responsible adoption: choosing to share your life with a four-legged friend is a deep commitment, an act of love that must be permanent and approached with full awareness. Many of our guests, like Nuvola, need continuous care, stability, and a protected environment. For this reason, like all the puppies at our animal shelter, Nuvola is available for adoption only remotely. Remote adoption allows us to ensure treatments, adequate nutrition, daily assistance, and the warmth of a safe home, while remaining in the place that best protects their well-being. We invite those who wish to support her to visit the section dedicated to remote adoption, where the process is explained step by step for becoming an active part of her rebirth and that of many other animals waiting for a second chance. About Nuvola

What life with Nuvola looks like

Nuvola is a medium-sized senior mixed breed dog waiting at Lo Scudo di Pan - Rifugio per Animali in Italy.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nuvola, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nuvola?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Lo Scudo di Pan - Rifugio per Animali handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nuvola on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nuvola if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Lo Scudo di Pan - Rifugio per Animali will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nuvola already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nuvola isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Lo Scudo di Pan - Rifugio per Animali early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nuvola and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
