Nyra

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 3 months

Nyra and her siblings did not have an easy start in life. Their mother Irma was found completely emaciated and heavily pregnant - her legs and snout were bound together. Shortly after her rescue, she gave birth to twelve puppies. Unfortunately, two of them died shortly after. Irma was so weakened by her severe malnutrition that she could not produce enough milk for her babies. Therefore, Dorel took on the difficult task of raising the ten surviving puppies by hand. With much care and countless feedings, the little ones made it and are now gradually discovering the world. Nyra is a very sweet little dog. She approaches people kindly and gently, even if she is initially a bit shy. She sometimes needs a moment to gain trust and adjust to a new situation. But once Nyra realizes everything is okay, her cuddly side comes out. She enjoys human closeness and caresses very much and shows what a sweet little cuddly mouse is in her. Optically, Nyra is also a pretty appearance: Her gray fur is complemented by beautiful white accents and gives her a very special expression. Nyra is looking for people who give her the time she needs to really settle in. People who do not see her initial reluctance as a problem, but patiently show her that the world can be a safe and beautiful place. With Nyra, we cannot rule out that her mother Irma's appearance also contains herding dog genes. Of course, that's not for sure. Especially with such a young dog, it is not yet foreseeable whether and how strong such characteristics will appear later. Herding dogs can be very loyal and closely attached to their people. At the same time, they are often quiet, independent and attentive and like to judge situations on their own. Depending on the degree of expression, watchfulness, territorial behavior or a certain reserve towards strangers may also be part of it. For Nyra, this means: Her future people should accompany her lovingly, patiently and with a clear, fair orientation. Whether such characteristics will actually develop in her remains to be seen. We can imagine Nyra wonderfully with people who enjoy gaining the trust of a initially somewhat cautious dog. Because once Nyra has understood that she can trust her human, she will certainly show her sweet and cuddly side even more. After a positive preliminary check and against a deposit, Nyra can travel to her new home chipped, vaccinated, dewormed and dewormed with an EU pet passport. Thank you to Kirsten R.! You gave Nyra her name and thus an identity. Status: 03.10.2026

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank an Kirsten R.! Stand: 03.10.2026

About Nyra

What life with Nyra looks like

Nyra is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Nyra, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Nyra?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Nyra on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Nyra if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Nyra already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Nyra isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Nyra and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
