Obii (🇫🇷)

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

FOR ADOPTION: Meet Obii—a big-hearted, sensitive soul and a real little clown! Behind this gorgeous pup’s eyes lies a touching story. Obii is 4 years old, and his past is a sad one: he grew up in a shelter, was adopted—and then abandoned for no apparent reason—leaving him deeply hurt by his abandonment. Fortunately, thanks to the wonderful, patient, and loving care provided by his foster family, Obii has undergone a remarkable transformation. He’s become reassured, socially confident, and today, he’s ready to find his forever home! Here’s Obii’s portrait (from his amazing foster carer): *“Mr. Obii is a little clown! He loves going for walks: whenever a car passes by, he sits down nicely to let it go through, and he does exactly the same thing when we encounter other people. In fact, he walks beautifully on a leash! An* *He’s a big foodie—and so sweet and gentle when you give him a biscuit or a piece of cheese, and he just loves licking yogurt pots! He listens very well and quickly understands what we say or ask of him.* *Mr. Obii is also very calm—a real sweetheart!! He pays absolutely no attention to the house cats.”* His personality & compatibility: — Temperament: *Both playful and incredibly calm. He’s a deeply endearing dog who forms a strong bond with his human. Sensitivity: Obii is a sensitive dog who needs a calm and gentle environment around him.* — Compatibility: *Humans: A loveable, gentle soul who’s highly attuned to his people. Other dogs: OK. Cats: **OK.* His ideal family: Having been marked by his past, Obii will absolutely need a smooth transition into his new home. We’re looking for a calm environment, patient and gentle adopters who are willing to give him all the time he needs to settle in at his own pace. Once he feels safe and secure, he’ll be the most loyal and fun-loving companion you could ever have. Location: Currently in foster care in the *59 department (Nord).* A huge thank you to his foster family for the incredible work they do every day to help him regain trust in humans. The next chapter of his story could be written with you... View the photo album

Voir l’album

About Obii (🇫🇷)

What life with Obii (🇫🇷) looks like

Obii (🇫🇷) is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Refuge d in France.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Obii (🇫🇷), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Obii (🇫🇷)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Refuge d handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Obii (🇫🇷) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Obii (🇫🇷) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Refuge d will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Obii (🇫🇷) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Obii (🇫🇷) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Refuge d early rather than rehoming privately; they know Obii (🇫🇷) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
