They were then bottle-fed with us and have now grown into quite proper little men who are ready for their own families. All three are open to humans, playful in a typical age-related manner, and very brave. They are also incredibly smart and have already understood at seven weeks that they can also do their business outside thanks to the cat flap. At the moment, Odin is even a bit more open than his two brothers, although this can of course still change. The siblings are currently getting to know other dogs of all sizes and ages to lay the foundation for extensive socialization. They are also currently getting used to walking on a leash alongside our volunteers. Due to bottle-feeding and living in the house, they are also familiar with cats and would like to move to a family with a furry friend. We are now looking for a home for Odin, where he can experience loving but equally consistent upbringing. The siblings certainly have some shepherd dog genes in their blood and are therefore looking for people who are familiar with the characteristics of these loyal and active dogs and already have some dog experience. A confident first-time dog owner would certainly make it easier for Odin to start his new life, but this is not a prerequisite for a

About Odin

What life with Odin looks like

Odin is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. in Germany.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Odin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Odin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Odin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Odin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Odin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Odin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Arche Noah Transilvania e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Odin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
