Hello, I am Olaf, at first everyone here called me Grabscher... quite mean as I found it. Anyway, I only had an intense hunger, to the point where I would grab any bowl that came within my reach without caring about my caretakers' fingers. I just wanted one thing - FOOD! A blood test revealed that I have an overactive thyroid. Now, I take a tablet once a day, and let me tell you, my unquenchable hunger has improved. I can finally rest and sleep a lot, which was impossible for me before due to my hunger. Here at the cat shelter, I get along well with the other cats, as long as the other tomcats don't bother me too much. I am friendly with people, but small children shouldn't live in my new home, as I do show my limits. They would probably be too wild and loud for me. After all, I am already an old boy and need my peace. Since I have only ever lived outdoors until now, I would like to be let out again after an adjustment period. Therefore, I would like a quiet environment. So, who would like to give the non-grabbing Olaf a nice new home? Please contact my caretakers and arrange a meet-and-greet. This cat needs outdoor access.

Hallo, ich bin Olaf, anfangs haben mich hier alle den Grabscher genannt... voll fies wie ich finde. Dabei hatte ich nur Hunger. So doll, dass ich nach jedem Napf gegrabscht habe, der in meine Reichweite kam. Ohne Rücksicht auf die Finger meiner Pfleger, ich wollte nur eins - FRESSEN! Es wurde ein Blutbild gemacht und dabei kam heraus, dass ich eine Schilddrüsenüberfunktion habe. Dafür bekomme ich nun Tabletten, einmal am Tag eine... und was soll ich Euch sagen, mein unstillbarer Hunger hat sich gebessert. Ich kann nun auch endlich mal zur Ruhe kommen und schlafe gerne viel. Das war mir vorher vor lauter Hunger nicht möglich. Hier im Katzenhaus verstehe ich mich soweit ganz gut mit den anderen Katzen, solange die anderen Kater mich nicht zu sehr belästigen. Zu Menschen bin ich nett, allerdings sollten trotzdem keine ganz kleinen Kinder im neuen Zuhause leben, da ich auch schon mal meine Grenzen zeige. Auch wären mir diese vermutlich zu wild und laut. Immerhin bin ich schon ein richtiger Opi und brauche meine Ruhe. Da ich bisher immer nur draußen gelebt habe, möchte ich nach einer Eingewöhnungszeit auch wieder in den Freigang. Daher wünsche ich mir eine verkehrsberuhigte Umgebung. Also wer möchte mir, dem nicht mehr grabschenden Olaf, ein schönes neues Zuhause geben? Bitte meldet Euch schnell bei meinen Pflegern und macht einen Kennenlerntermin aus. Bis bald Euer Olaf
