Oleandra

Female · Young · 1 year

Oleandra is about 1 year old. She has been at the animal shelter since April - unfortunately, she has spent all this time in the cat hospital, in a cage, fighting for her health. She looks younger than she actually is - it's thanks to her small, delicate build. But don't be deceived. Inside this small body is a huge heart and even greater love for people. Oleandra loves contact with people. From the very first petting, she starts to press her cushion with an enthusiasm worthy of a professional cat masseuse - at home she would certainly have a career as a relaxation and purring specialist. As soon as someone enters the room, Oleandra is ready: she purrs loudly, looks with hope and waits for a dose of affection. She also has a healthy, solid appetite - her bowl is always empty to the last bite. Oleandra is a very cute, very sociable and extremely loved cat. Unfortunately, her health still requires attention. She had toxoplasmosis, and is currently being treated for a fungal infection. Because of this, she has not yet been spayed. We are looking for an exceptional home for her - one that won't be scared by the treatment, will give her time and trust that with proper care Oleandra will regain her full strength. Her character is already great - now she just needs safety, warmth and care. Oleandra is available for adoption after a prior conversation with the veterinarian at the animal shelter. If you are looking for a cat that will repay your love with purring and presence - Oleandra is waiting for you. Before adoption, we recommend familiarizing yourself with the pre-adoption questionnaire and coming to the animal shelter with the form already filled out: Attention: When deciding on adoption or considering it, be sure to bring a carrier or transport bag for cats to the animal shelter. Before adoption, make sure your home / apartment is safe and properly prepared for welcoming a new family member. Remember to secure the windows and balcony.

Pamiętaj, żeby zabezpieczyć okna i balkon. About Oleandra

What life with Oleandra looks like

Oleandra is a small young adult cat waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

Note from the shelter: Currently recovering from toxoplasmosis and being treated for fungal infection. Requires ongoing veterinary care and patient owner.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oleandra, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oleandra?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oleandra on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oleandra if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oleandra already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oleandra isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oleandra and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
