Olive

Rottweiler · Female · Young · 1 year

Hello... I'm Olive, and if you're looking for a clever best friend who's always ready to learn something new, then I think we should meet! The humans here say I'm a very bright girl who absolutely loves training. Show me a tasty treat and I'll be ready to learn in no time! One of my favourite things is practising my "through" and "middle" commands, weaving between your legs with a wagging tail. I love using my brain, and there's nothing better than working alongside my favourite people.I'm a happy, energetic girl who enjoys getting out and about and making the most of every day. Whether we're heading off on an adventure or practising my latest tricks, I'm happiest when I'm busy and included in the fun.I can get a little over-excited at times, so I'm still working on my manners. I'll really benefit from a family who can continue my training and help me learn that keeping all four paws on the floor is much more rewarding. The good news is I genuinely enjoy learning, so we'll have lots of fun along the way!I'm also a bit of a shadow and love being close to my people. Because of this, I find being left on my own quite difficult and will need a family who can patiently help me build my confidence and teach me that being alone for short periods is okay. I'd love someone who understands that this will take a little time and consistency.More than anything, I'm an affectionate, loyal girl who forms strong bonds with the people I love. If you're looking for a stunning companion who's as clever as she is beautiful, and you'd enjoy an active dog who loves to learn and be by your side, then I might just be the perfect match for you. About Olive

What life with Olive looks like

Olive is a young adult rottweiler dog waiting at National Animal Welfare Trust in Watford.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Olive, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Olive?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. National Animal Welfare Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Olive on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Olive if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — National Animal Welfare Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Olive already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Olive isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with National Animal Welfare Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Olive and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
