Oreo

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 4 months

Oreo - gentle and uncomplicated puppy seeks his people Oreo was found severely injured in Romania. His injuries were already infested with maggots, but he fought his way back to life. Today, he has been in a foster home in Romania for some time and shows what a wonderful dog is in him. Oreo is an exceptionally nice and calm male with a pleasant and relaxed nature. He does not have to be in the spotlight and does not push himself. Rather, he is an uncomplicated companion who fits well into everyday life and greets his people friendly and unagitated. At his foster home, Oreo lives in a dog group with dogs of different ages and sizes. He gets along wonderfully with all of them and shows a pleasant, social behavior. He likes to play and shows himself to be happy and playful at his age. However, Oreo is still a young dog who has a lot to learn - especially with a view to his future life in Germany. Basic rules, fixed structures and a loving, consistent accompaniment will help him develop into a safe and reliable companion. A visit to a competent dog school would also be desirable. We wish for Oreo people who are happy to accompany him on his way and show him how beautiful a home can be. With his touching and friendly nature, he brings the best conditions to become a great family dog - with the right accompaniment of course. After a positive preliminary check, Oreo may be castrated, vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, dewormed and with an EU pet passport against a deposit of 495 euros in his new home.

About Oreo

What life with Oreo looks like

Oreo is a puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oreo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oreo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oreo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oreo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Oreo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oreo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein SpecialDogs e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oreo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
