European Shorthair · Male · Young · 1 year

Identified by microchip Type: European Color: Black and white - Coat: Short Neutered Tested FIV (AIDS) negative - FELV (Feline Leukemia) negative Vaccinated for Typhus and Cough Health: All good. In foster care Hello there. Yes, you, the future official servant of my feline majesty. I'm Oscar, a tuxedo cat - always in costume, never late, except when pretending to sleep. I am very sociable with humans: clearly, you are my favorite species (easy to train, give hugs and food, what more could you ask for?). With my peers, however... let's say I prefer to be the only mustachioed one in the house. A star does not share the spotlight. Read more... In life, I am a big athlete. My main activity: feather tossing... solo version. My feather toy Stitch is my treasure. When I catch it, I parade with it in my mouth like an Olympic champion of the living room. Add to that my talent for climbing (including cabinets) and my surprise attacks behind the curtains, and you get a permanent show. Netflix is nice, but I'm live. I am also very involved in... gastronomy. Unlimited dry food, wet food morning and night, and most importantly: impeccable punctuality. For me, "time is time". Otherwise, a free concert of meows (I take reservations every day). In terms of cuddles, I am an expert... when I decide. And then, watch out: the purring engine is on. On the other hand, being carried too long? No thanks, I'm not a handbag. I like going out for fresh air, but in a safe way: if the door closes, I come back quickly meowing to get in. Adventurous, yes. Foolhardy, no. In short: funny, elegant, playful, and a bit of a diva. Adopt me, and your life will go from "nice" to "Oscar-ly great". So there you go, you can continue your life as if nothing happened... or you can adopt Oscar and move to the next level. Honestly, the choice is quick. Find Oscar on the shelter's Facebook page.

About Oscar

What life with Oscar looks like

Oscar is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus in France.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Oscar, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Oscar?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Oscar on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Oscar if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Oscar already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Oscar isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus early rather than rehoming privately; they know Oscar and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
