Adopt Miel

European Shorthair · Male · Young · 2 years

Identified by microchip Type: European Color: Brown blotched tabby - Coat: short Neutered Tested FIV (AIDS) negative - FELV (Leukemia) negative Vaccinated for Typhus and cat flu Health: All good. In foster care Hello, future adopters, My name is Miel. Yes, like honey. Sweet... well, it depends on the moment. Let's say I'm complex, which is much more noble. Before, I had a home. A human, a couch, windows to watch... the good life, you know. And then one day there was an allergy issue with a husband. Apparently, some humans sneeze when they see a cat. It's strange as a disease, but okay. They told me the solution would have been desensitization... but apparently it was too complicated. Result: here I am at the shelter. Read more... I won't lie: at first, I was a bit stressed. Imagine... new place, new smells, no one to understand my meows. Because yes, I talk a lot. I have a whole repertoire: - the meow "hello, what are we doing today?" - the meow "you forgot something in my bowl" - the meow "I'm here to comment on your life" - the clear meow "leave me alone." That one, people usually understand quickly. I'm a very curious cat, not at all shy. If something happens in the house, I want to know. A door opening? I check. A moving bag? I check. A mysterious box? I check... and often I end up sitting inside. I also like to observe the world from a window. It's my favorite show: Birds and Strange People Passing By. Infinite season. Ah, let's talk about an important point: cuddles. I want to be honest from the start. I'm not a clingy cat. For me, it's by appointment only. It's me who decides. However, in the evening in bed... there I can become surprisingly tender. Sometimes in the morning too, but only if the atmosphere is good and no one talks too loud before my coffee... well, my food. During the day, I'm rather busy with serious things: - playing hide and seek, - attacking feather toys, - chasing a fishing rod like a big tiger (well... a small tiger), - taking strategic naps on a comfortable chair under the table, - or sitting on my cat tree like the king of the living room. I also like to run. Sprints down the stairs are a sport I practice with a lot of enthusiasm. Exploring a garage full of unknown smells? Exciting. Let's say I enjoy places where there's space for my adventures. In short... I have my little character. But also a big heart of a cat who is simply looking for a new home. A home with patient humans who will understand that trust from a cat like me is earned... and that when I snuggle up in the evening, it's a privilege. If you're looking for a cat who talks, observes everything, plays like a maniac and chooses you as a companion... then come meet me. Sincerely, Miel, chatty cat, official explorer, and future exceptional roommate. Find Miel on the shelter's Facebook page.

Identifié par puce électronique Type : Européen Couleur : Brown blotched tabby - Pelage : court Stérilisé Testé FIV (Sida) négatif - FELV (Leucose) négatif Vacciné Typhus et Coryza Santé : Tout va bien. En famille d'accueil Je me présente : Miel. Résultat : me voilà arrivé au refuge.

About Miel

What life with Miel looks like

Miel is a young adult european shorthair cat waiting at Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus in France.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Fees are typically €150–€300. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Miel, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Miel?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Miel on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Miel if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Miel already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Miel isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Le Regroupement Des Chats Perdus early rather than rehoming privately; they know Miel and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
